The Heber Valley group putting on this 9/11 Day of Service consists of representatives from local civic groups, faith organizations, the forest service, school councils and the Wasatch Parent Network, senior centers, the Wasatch Community Foundation, and other local groups connected to our community.
In conjunction with the National Day of Service, we have organized a variety of service opportunities for individuals and families throughout the Heber Valley that are posted on JustServe.org.
This is the 23rd Anniversary of 9/11 and a great opportunity to give back to our community.
We very much look forward to joining with our neighbors on that weekend to provide service in honor of those first responders who served on this heroic day.
We hope you'll consider setting aside some time to provide services on this Day of Service. We know this will impact our valley in a beautiful way!

WWII Airport Museum Clean-Up
On Saturday, September 7th from 10:00am to 12:00pm, we'll be cleaning out the shed and barn of the Commemorative Air Force - Utah Wing Museum. Please bring your own work gloves.

Heber City Park
On Saturday, September 10th at 8am, we will be cleaning up Heber City Park and sprucing up the trees. Bring shovels, wheelbarrows and yard tools that can help remove the sod from the base of the trees. The city is providing the mulch to put at the bottom of the trees and bags for the discarded sod. Many hands make light work!
Wasatch High School Stadium Clean-Up
On Saturday, September 7th from 10:00am to 12:00pm, we'll be cleaning up and weeding the surrounding area of the Wasatch High School Stadium. Please bring work gloves and your smiles!

Timpanogos Valley Theatre Clean-Up
On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be cleaning, organizing, painting and possibly building stage sets or props for upcoming productions. TVT will provide all materials. If you're a skilled craftsman, please reach out prior for other possible project opportunities.

On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be pulling weeds at the Wasatch County Event Complex/Rodeo Grounds and the surrounding area. Bring your own work gloves and a shovel, the county will provide trash bags.

Lake Creek Farms Labor of Love
On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be helping weed our community garden. Bring your own gloves and your own hoe. Only a few available on site.

Highway 189 Clean-Up
On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be picking up trash on both sides of Highway 189, between June Pie and The Auto Spa. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver (UDOT requirement). Bring your own work gloves. There are TWO meeting locations below. Please Note: Ages 13 and UNDER must be accompanied with a parent and meet at the Airport Manager's office by the Beacon Tower.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
Fleece Blankets
On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be cutting and preparing blankets for the homeless. These blankets will go to women in the Correctional Facility to finish for us.
Please Note: Please bring 2 yards of fleece fabric (there will be fabric there) and fabric scissors (with your name on them if you'd like them returned).

Weaving Sleeping Mats
On Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 12pm, we'll be making sleeping mats for the homeless. Each mat takes around 600-700 grocery bags to complete.

Refuge Kits
Refugee and immigrant women in Utah have much higher infant mortality rates than the general population. Most cannot afford health insurance for themselves, their birth experience, or their newborns. We are collecting donations of a list of needed items to be placed into kits to assist these newborns and their mothers. We will collect the items on Saturday, September 10th OR you can order online and ship them directly.

Fresh produce can be dropped off at either the Christian Center Park City or Community Action during business hours or at the closing event there will be a table set up and any extra fresh fruits and vegetables can be left there and it will get divided between the local food pantry’s.

Unable to Serve? Accepting Financial Donations
WCF Food Drive Fund
Support our local food pantries in Wasatch County, including Christian Center Park City, Community Action, and the High School.
Donations to this fund will be used to purchase items needed at these local pantries.
WCF General Services Fund
Our Human Services Pillar mission is to address the unmet basic needs of residents in Wasatch County, including food insecurity, housing, and public transportation. In addition, we are raising funds for the Area Food Drive, the Christmas Food Box Program, the Weekend Back Pack Program, and other sponsorship projects. All funds stay local to Heber Valley.
